David Hasenbalg Group Head, Senior Managing Director

David Hasenbalg is the group head for City National Bank’s Food & Beverage Group. Based out of Irvine, California, he leads the bank’s Food & Beverage Group, which provides comprehensive financial solutions throughout the country.

Mr. Hasenbalg has more than twenty-five years of food and beverage banking experience. Prior to joining City National, he served as managing director of GE Capital’s Food & Beverage Group.

He has nearly a decade of experience with the E. & J. Gallo Winery; he has held various management roles in California and served as the national sales manager in England, Belgium and Germany.

Mr. Hasenbalg earned his bachelor’s degree from DePauw University and has served on its alumni board of directors. In addition, he is on the board of the Second Harvest Food Bank and on the board of the University of California Riverside Executive Program. He lives in Newport Coast, California, with his wife.


Jennifer Braasch Managing Director Midwest & Great Lakes Region

Jennifer Pricco Braasch is a managing director with City National Bank’s Food & Beverage Group. Based in Milwaukee, she supports industry executives with creative financing solutions and industry intelligence. With City National’s team of experts, she provides the bank’s full suite of financial solutions to food and beverage businesses nationwide.

Ms. Braasch has over 20 years of financial services experience. Prior to joining City National, she served as a senior relationship manager for Wells Fargo’s Food & Agribusiness group, and spent 15 years with GE Capital’s Corporate Finance and Antares Capital groups, including four years as part of the Food & Beverage team.

Ms. Braasch earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and her Masters of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She serves on the Executive Council for the Hunger Task Force and the Board of Directors for the Tosa Community Food Pantry.


Zachary Chubb Managing Director Northeast Region

Zachary Chubb is a managing director with City National Bank’s Food & Beverage Group. Based in New York, he leads the East Coast food and beverage sector coverage. He provides comprehensive capital solutions supported by City National’s full product suite to help customers achieve their financial and strategic objectives.  

Mr. Chubb has more than 15 years of corporate finance and consumer sector experience, executing over $20 billion in transactions. He has extensive experience advising food and beverage companies and private equity firms on mergers and acquisitions, corporate financings, leveraged buyouts, IPOs and risk management. Prior to joining City National, he was a director with RBC Capital Markets’ Food & Beverage investment banking group. Prior to RBC, he was a senior member of Accenture’s global consumer consulting practice.

Mr. Chubb earned his bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and his Master of Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business.


Justin D'Affronte Managing Director Southern California & Mountain Regions

Justin D’Affronte is a managing director with City National Bank’s Food & Beverage Group. Based in Irvine, California, he supports food and beverage industry executives with creative financing solutions and industry intelligence. Working with City National’s team of experts, he provides the bank’s full range of financial solutions to food and beverage businesses nationwide.

Mr. D’Affronte has more than 20 years of financial services experience. Prior to joining City National, he served as a senior vice president with GE Capital’s Food & Beverage Group for eight years.

Mr. D’Affronte earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California’s Leventhal School of Accounting and his Master of Business Administration from the university’s Marshall School of Business. In addition, he is a certified public accountant in the state of California. Active in the community, he volunteers with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.


Mike Dallape Managing Director Northern California & Pacific Northwest Regions

Mike Dallape is a managing director with City National Bank’s Food & Beverage Group. Based in San Francisco, he supports industry executives with creative financial solutions and industry intelligence. He and his team provide a full range of comprehensive cash flow and asset-backed debt products to Food & Beverage businesses and consumer focused Financial Sponsors throughout the country.

Mr. Dallape has more than 25 years of financial services experience. Prior to City National, he was a senior vice president with GE Capital’s Food & Beverage Group.

Mr. Dallape earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston College and is a member of the Commercial Finance Association’s Northern California chapter. He volunteers with the Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco and coaches football and lacrosse with the San Francisco Police Activity League and the Schools of the Sacred Heart. He has served on the boards of the Haight Ashbury Free Clinic and Schools of the Sacred Heart San Francisco. He resides in San Francisco, California, with his wife and two sons.


Shahe Kassardjian Managing Director Southern California & Southwest Regions

Shahe Kassardjian is a managing director with City National Bank’s Food & Beverage Group. Based out of Irvine, California, he works with City National’s team of experts to provide cash flow, asset-based lending, real estate and equipment financing expertise to businesses in the food and beverage industry.

Mr. Kassardjian has more than twenty years of financial services experience and has covered the food and beverage industry for over fifteen years. Prior to joining City National, he served as a senior vice president with GE Capital’s Food & Beverage Group.

Mr. Kassardjian earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from California State University, Fullerton. Active in the community, he volunteers with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. He lives in Santa Ana, California, with his wife, Amy, and their two boys.



Joel Keating Managing Director, Team Leader Northeast, Midwest & Southeast Regions

Joel Keating is a managing director and team leader responsible for the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast regions with City National Bank’s Food & Beverage Group. Based out of San Francisco, he is responsible for developing debt financing opportunities for food and beverage businesses throughout the country.

Mr. Keating has more than 20 years of financial services experience, including 10 years of lending experience serving the food and beverage industry. Prior to joining City National, he served as a senior vice president with GE Capital’s Food & Beverage Group for five years. He previously held roles with Lloyds Banking Group in New York, London and Sydney. He began his career with GE Capital in Sydney.

Mr. Keating earned his bachelor’s degree from Griffith University in Queensland, Australia, and his MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Lafayette, California, with his wife and two children.



Jack Lampert Managing Director, Senior Syndications Manager

Jack Lampert is a managing director and senior syndications manager with City National Bank’s Food & Beverage Group. Based out of Irvine, California, he supports the syndication and distribution of senior credit facilities for the Food & Beverage Group.

Mr. Lampert has more than 30 years of financial services experience. Prior to joining City National, he served as a senior vice president for 16 years with GE Capital Markets in Irvine, where he specialized in the food and beverage industry. Previously, he was managing director – capital markets with Fleet Financial Group / Bank of America for 10 years.

Mr. Lampert earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from California State University, Long Beach and his Master of Business Administration from Chapman University. In addition, he is a Chartered Financial Analyst®. Active in the community, he volunteers with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
