The Collective at Wasserman Helps Women Athletes

Top female athletes deserve the perks, prestige and paychecks long earned by their male counterparts. But that is not today's reality. So how do they get there?

Todd Burach, senior vice president in our Sports and Entertainment Division, asked Thayer Lavielle, executive vice president at The Collective at Wasserman, about the game plan.

Wasserman is a global sports entertainment agency representing 2,700 athletes from a wide range of sports—but just 170 are women. The Collective was launched to raise the visibility of women in sports and entertainment by tapping all the resources of the vast Wasserman organization.

Lavielle says the first step is listening to the hopes and dreams of each of these accomplished athletes. “We want to provide an incredible amount of service, contacts, smarts, and negotiation help to be able to help them achieve those dreams."

The Collective's mission is supported by the commitment to change exhibited by both City National and our parent company, RBC.
