Martha Henderson & Denise Colletta Named to 2023 Power List

The list celebrates the 100 most powerful executives in the music industry.

Feb 17, 2023

Martha Henderson, vice chairman of Entertainment Banking, and Denise Colletta, senior vice president and team leader in Entertainment Banking, have been named to Billboard's 2023 Power List. This is Henderson's second time and Colletta's first being named to the list, which honors the top executives shaping the music business today.

Henderson was singled out for her long and noteworthy career — spanning 40 years at City National — as a trusted supporter to some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Billboard also named her to the Power list in 2022, and the publication recognized her in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018 in its "Women in Music" list of the most powerful women in the music industry. In 2016, 2019 and 2020, Variety recognized Henderson in its "Women's Impact Report" of the most important women in Hollywood. Barron's profiled her as the most powerful banker in Hollywood in 2017 and called her "the Greta Garbo of private banking."

Colletta, who has been with City National for more than 23 years, was recognized for her unparalleled efforts in banking some of the top business and creative names in the music industry, in the areas of music publishing, business acquisitions, creative office space and recording studios, name and image rights and related licensing, and royalty-based lending. Billboard also named her to the "Women in Music" list in 2022. Colletta oversees a portfolio totaling approximately $2 billion. In the past year, she has worked on major financing deals for songwriters, composers, music publishing companies, distribution companies and independent labels. She also delivered crucial technology solutions for clients who offer end-to-end servicing for royalty and other IP payments.
