Lori Badgett, senior vice president and Entertainment Banking team leader in Nashville, has been named to Billboard's 2023 "Women in Music" list. This is Badgett's third time making this list, which recognizes the top executives shaping the music industry today.
Badgett was singled out for her long history of powering the country music industry — spanning nearly 12 years at City National and more than 25 years total — by providing financial services and advice to artists, songwriters, producers, managers, performing rights organizations, agencies, publishing companies, entrepreneurs, business managers, CPA firms and law firms in the music business.
Badgett helped launch City National's Nashville office in 2011 with Diane Pearson, senior vice president and Entertainment Banking team leader. Together, they co-manage the office, which has quickly become the "Bank to Music City" — Nashville's premier entertainment bank that now serves over 80% of the country music industry that's based there. Celebrating its 11-year anniversary this year, the team of more than two dozen colleagues serves the most well-known names in the industry.
Badgett enjoys giving back to the music community through her nonprofit work. She is the current chairman of the board of directors for the Academy of Country Music (ACM). She also serves as an active board member of the Women's Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, Girls Give and ACM Lifting Lives. She is an active member of the Association of Independent Music Publishers, Americana Music Association, Academy of Country Music, Country Music Association, Country Music Hall of Fame Circle Society, The Recording Academy and Source.
Badgett has been recognized as one of Billboard's "Top Women in Music" as well as Variety's "Women Who Power Country Music," "Top Entertainment Industry Dealmakers" and "Top Music City Impact Players."
