Consumer Notice for City National Bank, City National Securities, Inc., and City National Rochdale®, LLC

 

Your privacy is important to us. When you use and interact with our websites or services, communicate with us, visit our offices or attend our events, among other activities, we may collect, use, share and process information relating to you ("Personal Information"). City National Bank and our subsidiaries and affiliates (referenced below as “City National”) are committed to safeguarding the confidentiality and privacy of this information.

City National companies do not share any client information with nonaffiliated third parties for marketing purposes.

Consistent with our Privacy Notice, City National may, on a selective and confidential basis, share appropriate information with our affiliates. We may also share select information when you expressly request that we provide you with certain products and services that are available through one of our companies.

We may collect name, email address, IP address, physical mailing address, telephone number, social security number, device identifier and other personal or financial information, where it is reasonably required for ordinary business purposes. Additionally, you may choose to grant our mobile applications permission to access your device's camera, location, and/or contact listings to benefit from additional functionality.

City National collects Personal Information from the following categories of sources:

City National uses the Personal Information above for the following business purposes:

  • For our mobile applications to access your device’s camera for remote deposit, to access your device’s contact list to display a listing of contact email addresses and phone numbers for sending/receiving funds, or to access your device’s location to find a local branch or ATM, should you enable these settings.
  • For any other use disclosed at or before the point of collecting the Personal Information

City National may share the Personal Information above with the following parties:

  • Our parent company – Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”) Business partners
  • Service providers
  • Third parties with whom you authorize or direct us to share your information

City National maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect against unauthorized access to Personal Information. In addition, City National limits access to Personal Information to those with a need to know. All employees with access to Personal Information complete annual Privacy & Security training. 

City National will not retain Personal Information longer than necessary to accomplish the business purpose for which the Personal Information was collected and processed or as required by the terms of a client contract or applicable law.

Protection of Children’s Online Privacy

We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 without parental consent.  Our website is not directed or intended to individuals under the age of 13 and should not be used by individuals under the age of 13.  In no event should individuals under the age of 13, provide any Personal Information through our website.  More information about the Children’s Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) may be found at www.ftc.gov.

 

For Nevada Consumer Residents

When you apply for or request information regarding our products or services through our online services, we will collect information about you such as your name, email address, IP address, physical mailing address, telephone number, social security number, and other Personal Information.  We may also collect other information in combination with an identifier in a form that makes the information personally identifiable. We may share this information with our affiliates or third party service providers to process your application for a service or request for information, to maintain your account or other relationship with us, and to respond to court orders, subpoenas or investigations.

When visiting our website or using our online services, third parties providing services on our behalf may also collect information about you to process your online service activity or transaction and may also maintain such information over time.
