WASHINGTON, D.C. — City National Bank, America’s Premier Private and Business Bank®, announced today that it has opened a full-service regional banking center at The Boro in Tysons, located in McLean, Virginia.

The Tysons branch is the latest example of City National’s growth on the East Coast, and it comes on the heels of the bank’s opening of two new branches in New York in July. City National is opening the branch in line with the latest pandemic reopening guidance in Fairfax County, and will follow best practices to ensure the safety of clients and bank colleagues.

“This is a time of unprecedented uncertainty for so many businesses and individuals,” said Scott Witter, executive vice president and head of Personal & Business Banking at City National. “We welcome the opportunity to provide even more support for businesses, professionals, entrepreneurs and their families in the DC area during this challenging time.”

City National opened its first full-service regional banking center in the district in February 2018 near Dupont Circle. More than two dozen seasoned bankers now deliver City National’s relationship-focused private and business banking capabilities to small and mid-size businesses, entrepreneurs, professionals, investors and their families, as well as nonprofit organizations, law firms, accounting firms and more.

Now, with the addition of its new 4,200-square-foot full-service regional center in Tysons at The Boro, City National can better serve local businesses, high-net-worth individuals and government contractors in the greater Washington area and Northern Virginia. The Tysons team will work closely with Royal Bank of Canada’s wealth management and capital markets businesses to serve clients’ varied needs.

“Greater Washington has responded well to City National’s deep expertise and customized solutions,” said Juan Jara, senior vice president and group manager with Personal & Business Banking. “Opening our Tysons office will enable us to help individuals and local businesses navigate these uncertain times and reach their financial goals.”

The new office also includes four experienced commercial bankers who deliver City National’s full complement of credit products, treasury management and investment services to middle-market businesses in DC, Maryland and Virginia. The Commercial Banking team has deep expertise in providing growth and transactional capital to government contractors.

“City National is deeply committed to helping business owners manage challenges, grow and prosper,” said Ginny Heine, senior vice president and the Commercial Banking manager for City National in greater Washington. “I look forward to working with the outstanding team in Tysons to continue offering City National’s exceptional level of service.”

Leading the new office is Tim Dodgen, vice president and branch manager. He and his team provide concierge-style banking to businesses, their owners and families, and the community. With more than 14 years of banking experience, he was previously a senior client manager of City National’s first DC branch. He began his banking career in McLean at Wells Fargo. Dodgen earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Nyack College. He is an active member of his church and coached high school baseball and Special Olympics basketball for many years. He is a member of the DC and Greater Reston Chambers of Commerce through the bank.

The new client manager of City National’s Tysons office will be Weina Xuan. Xuan brings more than eight years of banking experience and is responsible for everyday banking operations, client engagement and representing the bank to prospects through community events. She was a part of the team that opened the first City National location in DC and was recently promoted to open the Tysons branch. Prior to joining City National, she was a licensed banker and brokerage associate at Wells Fargo Bank.
