Jul 06, 2018

RENO, NV – City National Bank, Nevada’s Premier Private and Business Bank®, today announced that it has appointed Shannon Albert with Carson Valley Medical Center and Allen Alexander with Calculated Industries as the newest members of its nine member advisory board in northern Nevada.  Linda Burdick of Burdick Excavating recently cycled off the board and Mary Beth Sewald moved to the bank’s Southern Nevada Advisory board after being named president and CEO of the Las Vegas Metro Chamber.

Albert has served in a variety of capacities at Carson Valley Medical Center since 2004, currently serving as director of Development and Outreach and serving twice as interim chief executive officer. In her role at CVMC, she oversees marketing, development, food & nutrition services, patient advocacy and human resources. She also serves as the executive director of the CVMC Hospital Foundation.  She is a member of the Society for Healthcare Market Planning and Development and Association of Healthcare Philanthropy.

Prior to entering the world of healthcare, Albert previously worked in communications at AIG VALIC in Sacramento, Calif. She earned her bachelor's degree in communications and public relations from Sacramento State University.

An active member of the community, Albert is an executive board member of the Business Council of Douglas County, a member of Minden Rotary and is a past president of both the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce and Soroptimist International of Carson Valley.

Alexander is co-owner of Calculated Industries Inc., Rice Hydro Inc., and RHI Powder.  He joined these family-owned companies 17 years ago as vice president of Sales, and worked his way up as Innovation Lead and President before assuming the role of co-owner with other family members. He moved to Carson City from southern California in 2001 following some work he did in the mortgage and dot.com industries.

Alexander earned a Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University and participates in personal development courses offered by various educational institutions in northern Nevada and southern California.

Alexander is also actively involved in the local community serving on a number of nonprofit boards and/or volunteer positions for several community groups, including the Carson Futol Club, Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada along many other local charitable foundations and community programs.

“We are very pleased to have these two highly qualified individuals join our advisory board in northern Nevada,” said Scott Aney, Nevada regional executive for City National.  “Both Shannon and Allen are very accomplished and highly regarded in their respective industries.  Each brings a unique perspective to our board along with a vast knowledge and understanding of the local markets we serve, which will help us increase our brand awareness and ultimately grow the bank.”

In addition to the nine prominent business professionals serving on its advisory board in northern Nevada, City National has an advisory board in southern Nevada consisting of 10 prominent business and community leaders. City National has a number of advisory boards in various regions throughout its footprint.  These advisory boards play a vital role in the success of the bank by helping refer and develop new relationships, provide input on the local economies, identify areas of financial service needs not adequately addressed in the market, and assist in representing the bank in the community at various functions and charitable events.  Each board member serves a minimum three year term.
