City National Bank Hires Brent Williams to Lead Commercial Banking Team in the Southern California Region

Experienced banker will provide guidance and solutions to businesses in the region

LOS ANGELES – City National Bank, America’s Premier Private and Business Bank®, today announced that it has hired Brent Williams to lead its commercial banking team in the Southern California region. Williams will lead a team of commercial bankers, delivering City National’s customized financial solutions to midsized businesses in Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley, Ventura and Long Beach.

“Brent has a long history of successfully serving clients throughout Southern California, and we are so pleased he will be leading our growing team here,” said Michael Walker, head of Commercial Banking and Northern California Regional Executive at City National Bank. “His expertise will strengthen City National, and Williams and his team will work with clients to develop long-term financial strategies by providing advice to help grow and expand their businesses.”

City National’s Commercial Banking team delivers banking, credit and treasury management services to its commercial clients, which includes businesses with revenues $10 million and above. Its personalized solutions help clients with credit lines and term loans, asset-based lending, leased or purchased equipment, and purchasing or refinancing real estate as well as treasury management, fraud mitigation, deposit solutions, international banking and wealth management.

Williams has more than 25 years of financial services experience. Prior to joining City National, he worked in a variety of roles at Wells Fargo, most recently as an executive vice president and region head responsible for the Westside of Los Angeles as well as head of the bank’s Southern California Middle Market Technology, Media and Telecom team. Williams earned his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Active in the community, he volunteers his time with Wayfinder Family Services, where he is the treasurer of the board of directors. Recognized as a leader in the Los Angeles business community, Williams is often featured as an industry expert, most recently at the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Economic Forecast & Trends 2018 event.
