Patrick McCarthy, senior vice president and head of Marketing and MarTech, was one of the executives in the New York area to be selected for Crain's New York Business' "Notable in Advertising, Marketing & PR" list. He's made the list for the second year in a row. Patrick is based in New York and is responsible for developing and executing the company's brand marketing, creative and content development, digital marketing, segment marketing and social media campaigns. He is also responsible for monitoring and assessing client and prospect perceptions through a client insights and client experience function.

Just three years since he joined the bank, Patrick has become instrumental in driving City National's strategy as a digitally enabled relationship bank by partnering with lines of business to drive $125 Million in total client account activity already this fiscal year from marketing initiatives. This number was $5 million for the total fiscal year of 2019.

Under Patrick's leadership, City National has strengthened and amplified its unique brand by partnering with organizations such as Condé Nast to create thought leadership content in publications including The New Yorker and Vanity Fair. Patrick has also prioritized our own thought leadership development which resulted in City National's Insights page as a top-five Google search result for "wealth management" for a period of time during the pandemic.

The work of Patrick's marketing team has resulted in a gold marketing award from the Financial Communication Society for excellence in key performance indicator driven campaigns, gold and bronze at the American Business Awards for brand and business campaign excellence and an Audience Honoree at the Shorty Awards for excellence in social and digital media.
