Mike Mason

Mike Mason is executive vice president and head of first line of defense (1LOD) Credit and Portfolio Management at City National Bank. He also serves on the company’s Senior Management Team.

Mike joined City National in February 2024 to lead the bank’s credit underwriting and 1LOD commercial lending transformation.

Mike has more than 25 years of experience in corporate banking, capital markets, and credit products. Most recently, he served as the executive vice president and head of M&A Integration at Regions Bank, as well as managing director and head of Corporate Credit Products. Before Regions, he served as managing director and Corporate Banking lead for Accenture Consulting, and prior as head of Wholesale Credit Portfolio Strategy at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Mike earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and his master’s degree in business administration from Wake Forest University. He holds FINRA Series 24, 7, 79 and 63 securities licenses.
