David Cameron

David Cameron is executive vice president and chief operating officer at City National Bank. He sits on the company’s Executive Leadership Team and Senior Management Team.

As COO, David leads client servicing and operations for all lines of business and has oversight and accountability for bankwide programs including Fraud Prevention, Crisis Management and Business Continuity. He also oversees the bank’s 1LOD Controls and Enterprise Change Enablement & Adoption teams.

Additionally, David is responsible for the bank’s branch network, as well as its consumer & preferred banking, small business banking, community banking, and mortgage & residential lending segments. This includes City National’s commitment to fair lending and the Community Reinvestment Act.

David joined City National in 2005 as an associate business development officer. He spent 10 years growing his career and leading colleagues in Commercial Banking, Business Banking and Consumer Banking. He became COO in 2026.

The Los Angeles Business Journal named David among its “Top 100 Bankers” in 2025 and “Leaders of Influence: Banking & Finance” in 2024. Los Angeles Times B2B Publishing also named him to its 2024 list of “Banking and Finance Visionaries.”

David is active in the community. He serves on the board of directors for the Yosemite Conservancy Council, Pacific Coast Banking School and the Aquarium of the Pacific. He previously served as a board member of BizFed, a grassroots alliance that advocates for policies and projects that strengthen the Los Angeles regional economy.

David earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine, and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School.
