David Cameron is executive vice president of Personal & Business Banking at City National Bank and is a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team and Senior Management Team. David is responsible for the bank’s small business, consumer and preferred banking lines of business, including the branch network. He also oversees City National’s commitment to fair lending and the Community Reinvestment Act. He is based in Los Angeles and manages colleagues in California, Nevada, Georgia, Virginia, New York and Washington, D.C. 

David joined City National in 2005 as an associate business development officer. He spent 10 years growing his career and leading colleagues in Commercial Banking before becoming the senior vice president in charge of business banking in 2016. Under his leadership, City National has become one of the top lenders in the country for Small Business Administration 504 loans. David also successfully led his team through the Paycheck Protection Program and enabled Personal & Business Banking to make more than 11,600 PPP loans in excess of $2.1 billion. He was named executive vice president of Personal & Business Banking in 2023. 

He serves on the board of directors for the Pacific Coast Banking School and the Aquarium of the Pacific and is also a member of the Yosemite Conservancy Council. He previously served as a board member of BizFed, a grassroots alliance that advocates for policies and projects that strengthen the Los Angeles regional economy. In 2023, David was named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Leaders of Influence in Banking list; in 2019, he was on the annual list of the “Most Influential Lenders in Los Angeles County" for the same publication.

David earned his bachelor’s degree from the University California, Irvine, and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School.
