Eric Stern

Eric Stern is a senior vice president and private banker with City National’s Private Banking team. Based in Walnut Creek, he is part of a team of professionals who advise individuals, families, professional services firms and nonprofit organizations in investments, customized lending, banking and retirement planning.

Mr. Stern has more than 20 years of banking and investment experience. Prior to joining City National he was a managing director for Ascent Private Capital Management of US Bank in San Francisco. He has worked for institutions like Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and Merrill Lynch, in multiple cases helping to launch the concept of private banking services within the organization.

Mr. Stern supports various organizations including Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, and is a former board member for the YMCA of the East Bay. He earned a Master of Business Administration from University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree from University of California, Santa Barbara.
