City National is committed to vibrant diversity in our workforce, seeking colleagues from all cultural and experiential backgrounds. The wide variety of perspectives they bring enriches our workplace and enhances our ability to serve the needs of our clients and communities.

A Strategic Multicultural Initiative

City National seeks to become the bank of choice for multicultural clients as well as the employer of choice for dedicated financial service professionals of all backgrounds and life experiences. To advance this goal, we encourage a bank-wide culture of inclusivity.

Building Bridges, Internally and Externally

Fostering inclusion begins with workplace practices. We look for talented colleagues with a desire to give back. By supporting their internal growth and development, we promote mutual respect and long-term commitment. They extend that same level of dedication externally, to our clients and communities, building bridges that support economic development for all.

Our colleagues sit on boards and steering committees, serve in a variety of volunteer positions and seek strategic community-involvement partnerships. To encourage internal professional development among our multicultural workforce, while improving our external networking, we created affinity groups reflective of our diverse colleague population and client base.

Made up of individuals who share an interest in a specific culture(s), each affinity group works as a team, and collaborates with other teams, to advance its goals and find solutions tailored to the needs of its respective constituencies, both internally and externally.

  • Black Colleague Alliance
  • Asian American Network
  • Latino Community Network
  • PRIDE Alliance
  • Women's Networking Group
  • Women in Technology

Our affinity groups are made up of colleagues drawn from various lines of business throughout the bank. Through dynamic involvement, group members:

  • Lead business development efforts focused on individuals, companies and organizations that fit our banking profile.
  • Reach out to community organizations where we may be of service with financial education or other volunteerism.
  • Assist in recruiting talented professionals by working with human resources to identify, attract and retain candidates.
  • Help to guide and implement internal programs to expand opportunities for career and leadership development, including a formal mentoring program, speaking clubs and an educational career and leadership development series.
