General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Jared Wolff is executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of City National Bank, where he oversees the Legal and Corporate Administrative Group.
Mr. Wolff is responsible for Legal and Corporate Governance, Community Reinvestment, Corporate Premises and Corporate Security. He joined City National in January 2018 and is a member of its Executive Committee.
Mr. Wolff has broad management experience in the financial services industry and substantial expertise in mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, risk management, governance, capital formation and strategic planning, among other areas.
From 2002 to 2014, Mr. Wolff was at PacWest Bancorp and Pacific Western Bank. There he served as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of the holding company and as a director and president of the bank. He led the execution of significant bank and finance company acquisitions and oversaw corporate governance, risk management, compliance and internal audit.
Immediately prior to joining City National, Mr. Wolff was co-managing partner of Quarter Group LLC, a Los Angeles-based specialty real estate firm focused on the acquisition and development of urban properties in the United States.
Previously, he was an attorney at the law firm Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and an investment banker with Credit Suisse First Boston. Mr. Wolff also was a co-founder and chief operating officer of eNutrition LLC, an internet retailer of nutritional supplements.
Mr. Wolff earned his bachelor’s degree from Duke University, his master’s degree from Middlebury College and his juris doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School. He is admitted to practice law in both California and New York.
Mr. Wolff lives in Santa Monica, California, with his wife, Courtney, and their two children.
