Easily Send a Wire Transfer
Send domestic and international wire transfers using City National Online® or the City National Bank App®. The following account types can be used to fund a wire transfer:
- Demand Deposit Accounts (DDAs)
- Interest Checking Accounts
- Money Market Accounts (MMAs)
Domestic wires are processed the same day if submitted before 2:30 p.m. PT / 5:30 p.m. ET.
International wires are processed the same day if submitted before 1:30 p.m. PT / 4:30 p.m. ET.
Send a wire transfer on the City National Bank App
- Sign in to the City National Bank App. Select Move Money then select Request a Wire Transfer.
- Select the Wire Type then choose from Domestic (USD), International (USD) or International (foreign currency).
- Choose a Wire Date, enter the amount, and choose the account that will fund the wire transfer.
- Enter the wire details, including the recipient details (Name, Address, Financial Institution).
- Select Review Wire Request and then Slide to Request Wire.
- Verify your identity with a text or email verification code, then select Submit request.
Send a wire transfer from a web browser
- Sign in to City National Online using your User ID and password.
- Select Payments & Transfers then Send a Wire Transfer on the account summary screen.
- Select the Wire Type then choose from Domestic (USD), International (USD) or International (foreign currency).
- Enter the wire details, including the recipient details (Name, Address, Financial Institution). Your transaction limit will be listed in the gray text box.
- Select the account to send from.
- Choose a Wire Date and enter the amount.
- Review the wire transfer details.
- Type your name as shown, and select I Accept.
- The system navigates to the Wire Transfer Request Confirm Identity screen. Verify your identity with a text or voice message verification code, then select Submit request.
- View or download your Consumer Wire Transfer Confirmation and Receipt.
City National Bank App requires that you download the City National Bank App and is only available for select mobile devices. Requires setup in City National Online. Data connection required. Message and data rates may apply.
