MIGRATION PHASES & ACTIVITIES

Get ready for City National Business Essentials

Your Migration Phases

Please make sure you follow the steps below during the Pre-Migration phase. It is important to complete any updates to users and templates prior to 6 p.m. PT on Friday, January 28, 2022 to ensure these changes migrate from Business Online to Business Essentials.

Remove inactive users who no longer use the system and should not be migrated.

At migration, we will send users a temporary password to the email on file in Business Online. Please ask users to review this email under Setup > Change My Security Question to ensure that it is current.

Administrators will receive their users' new User IDs and will be responsible for distributing these User IDs to users. Note: Our goal is to preserve your current User IDs for each user, but in some cases, a user's User ID may need to be updated for it to be unique in the new system. Contact us if you have questions about specific User IDs.

As you are able, please minimize any changes in Business Online as we approach migration to Business Essentials. Any changes or updates made to Business Online after 6 p.m. PT on Friday, January 28, 2022 will need to be repeated in Business Essentials.

If you use QuickBooks or Quicken, you will need to update your settings. Please refer to the QuickBooks/Quicken Conversion Instructions for details.

You will have a preview period to view and learn Business Essentials while you are still using Business Online. Please make sure you follow the steps below during your initial logins to the platform. It is important to complete these tasks to ensure a successful launch.

During the weekend before the Get Started phase, you will receive a temporary password from City National. You will use this password with the User ID provided to sign in to City National Online and access Business Essentials. When you sign in for the first time, you will want to delete your browser’s cache, temporary files, and cookies to ensure your login does not conflict with existing files. Please refer to the first time login guide for step-by-step instructions.

Make time to review your list of users to ensure each has migrated successfully. Also, you will need to validate each user's permissions, as they will have changed in the new system.

While most of your data will be automatically migrated, you may want to download data, save backups and print certain reports from Business Online. For example, we recommend downloading account history for loan accounts, foreign currency deposit accounts and sweep accounts, as applicable. Review our list to see what will be automatically converted.

Add Business Essentials to your trusted sites and bookmarks, and make sure all of your users have received their new temporary passwords and have signed in to Business Essentials.

In Phase 3 of your migration, all users can begin transacting through Business Essentials. Business Online access will become view only.

For an additional two weeks only, you will have access to Business Online for data review and validation, account history, and audit history.

While most of your data will be converted, you will want to reestablish any data that WILL NOT be converted, such as recurring payroll transactions. Review the full list of data that will not be converted.

In the final phase of your migration, your Business Online account will be deactivated and you will no longer be able to log in to the old platform.

At this point, you will use Business Essentials for all of your business banking transactions.
