Q. If I have questions about Online Letters of Credit, who can help me?

A: You may call the City National Bank International Department at (213) 673-8635 during regular trade finance business hours, which are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

Q. How do I start issuing letters of credit online?

A: Applying for City National's Online Letters of Credit Service is easy. Just e-mail us at onlineLC@cnb.com or call our International Department at (213) 673-8635, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).

Q. What products are available on CNB's Online Letters of Credit Service?

A: Applications for Import and Stand-by Letters of Credit, Amendments to Import and Standby Letters of Credit, copies of Export Letters of Credit Advices, copies of Import Collection Advices, and copies of Export Letters of Credit Amendments.

Q. Do I need a CNB account in order to use CNB's Online Letters of Credit Service?

A: Yes. CNB's Online Letters of Credit service is offered to City National Bank clients only. Please call (213) 673-8635 for more information.

Q. How can I review what L/Cs I have issued on CNB's Online Letters of Credit Service?

A: Review L/C status by using the Inquiry/Deal Select feature located in the L/C menu on the left-hand side of the screen.

Q: Are the transactions secure?

A: Yes. CNB utilizes sophisticated encryption technology to safeguard the privacy of your information, with multi-level electronic signature protocols and security levels that you can tailor to your company's individual needs.

Q: How can I change my password?

A: Your password may be changed at any time, and should be changed immediately if you suspect this information has been compromised in any way. Click on the "Change Password" button on the logon screen. Input your User Name and type your old password in the Current Password field. Then type your New Password in both the New Password and Confirm New Password fields. Then click "Apply."

Q: I keep getting the message "Connection Lost." What should I do when I receive this message?

A: This message indicates that the Internet connection between your browser and CNB's Online Letters of Credit Service has been broken. Please click the Reload/Refresh button (Netscape uses "Reload," Microsoft Explorer uses "Refresh") in your browser, and log in again.
