Direct Connect with Quicken® FAQ

Which types of accounts can I have access to with Direct Connect with Quicken?
Checking, savings and money market accounts for personal and business accounts are eligible for Direct Connect with Quicken access.

Whom do I contact for Quicken technical support?
For setup, bill payment, and download connectivity issues you may contact us at (800) 765-0610 for Direct Connect with Quicken. We are here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist you.

(For other types of questions, such as "How do I." you are encouraged to click on Help on the menu bar from within the software; otherwise you may contact Intuit, at (800) 811-8766 from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday.)

What do I need to enroll for Direct Connect with Quicken?
In order to use Direct Connect with Quicken you need to complete the Direct Connect with Quicken Application form and you need the following:

  • A City National Bank personal or business checking account
  • Internet access
  • A current year version of the Quicken software or two years prior

What is the cutoff time for scheduling bill payments?
The cutoff time to schedule or delete same day bill payments through Direct Connect with Quicken is 6:00 p.m. Pacific time.

What is the cutoff time for sending Funds Transfers?
Funds Transfers made between 6:00 a.m. -11:00 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday, and 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time, Saturday/Sunday and Holidays will be real time and reflected in your activity download. If the transfer is sent outside of these time periods, it will show in your activity by 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time on the following business day.

Which type of accounts can I transfer between with Direct Connect with Quicken?
You man transfers between your checking, savings and money market accounts.

I'm already using City National Online with Quicken. How is Direct Connect with Quicken different?
City National Online is our Internet-based service that allows you, among other things, to download account activity from the service into Quicken. The Direct Connect with Quicken service does not require access to City National Online, and instead, allows you to set up a connection to the Bank directly from within your Quicken software for importing account information, paying bills, and transferring funds between City National Bank accounts.

Direct Connect with Quicken can only be used at a computer where you have installed and configured your Quicken software for the service. Alternatively, City National Online is a service that can be accessed from anywhere that you have access to the Internet.

Do I need to be enrolled in City National Online in order to use Direct Connect with Quicken?
No, the Direct Connect with Quicken service does not require that you be an Online Banking user.

"I've been downloading my account information from City National Online to Quicken. What do I need to know if I start using Direct Connect with Quicken?
If you have been downloading your account information from City National Online and now want to use the Direct Connect with Quicken service, be alert for the receipt of duplicate transactions with your first Direct Connect account activity import/download. So after your first download using Direct Connect service, accept your transactions carefully to mitigate the risk of accepting duplicates.

I've been paying bills with Online Banking. What tips can you provide if I start paying bills with Quicken?

  • If you intend to cancel your bill payment service through City National Online, be sure that you are aware of any pending bill payments and adjust your payment method as appropriate.
  • Your City National Online payee information can not be transferred to your Quicken software, therefore you will need to recreate each payee that you will continue to use.
