City National Completes Renovation and Installation of Rooftop Signage at its Orange County Regional Center

IRVINE, CA – City National, California’s Premier Private and Business Bank®, today announced that it has completed the renovation of existing space and build out of expansion space, along with the installation of prominent rooftop signage as the new anchor tenant, of its Orange County Regional Center located at 18111 Von Karman Avenue in Irvine, CA.  With the previous anchor tenant vacating the building, City National negotiated with the landlord, Sentre, to take on additional space and become the major tenant of this facility.

The bank’s Corporate Premises team worked with local contractors to complete this project, which included a redesign and build out of the first and fourth floor office space consisting of more than 30,000 square feet.  Renovation of the first floor branch space included replacement of the traditional teller line with a newly designed open concept universal banker design, providing a sit-down full sales and service experience for City National clients.

Additionally, the bank created a number of new offices on both floors to accommodate additional colleagues being hired this year.  As part of the bank’s new lease agreement, an additional 5,000 square feet of space was secured on the fourth floor in the Private Client Services and Wealth Management areas for the hiring of additional colleagues.

“The build out of additional space, along with the installation of the rooftop signage, of our Orange County Regional Center clearly reflects the success we’ve been having the past 40 years since City National entered this region,” said Kevin Dunigan, executive vice president and Orange County regional executive of City National.  “We are in a growth mode right now and we are hiring a number of new colleagues throughout the bank to help us continue to grow and expand our footprint and market share in Orange County.”

Dunigan went on to say that the rooftop signage will provide City National with a tremendous amount of visibility and brand awareness with all of the traffic that travels the 405 and 55 Freeways on a daily basis. “When you factor in the brand advertising we’ll generate from having a permanent billboard at the top of the building, our sales and marketing efforts in Orange County will reach even greater heights with our rooftop signage.  This increased brand awareness, along with additional staff, will help us achieve our goal of becoming the most recommended financial provider in the Orange County region.

City National was also successful in negotiating with the landlord and the city of Irvine to install larger lettering and iconic ladder logo with its rooftop signage on the building.  “We are very appreciative of both the landlord and the city approving this larger lettering so our name and logo stands out more for brand recognition.  It will be large enough for even passengers flying into the John Wayne Airport to see our name and logo,” added Dunigan.

City National entered Orange County over 40 years ago when it opened its first branch at Lido Village in Newport Beach on April 28, 1975.  The bank now has a total of seven branches throughout Orange County and over 120 colleagues working in several areas including Core Banking, which consists of the branch network, Commercial Banking Services, Private Client Services, the Real Estate Division, and City National Rochdale.  The bank moved into its current regional center at 18111 Von Karman Avenue in 2001.

In 2017, the bank will be building out another 2,500 square feet on the fourth floor to accommodate even further growth and staffing needs.
