Executive Vice President and
Chief Information Officer
Rick Hariman is executive vice president and chief information officer at City National Bank, where he manages the company’s Information Technology and Call Center divisions. He also is a member of City National’s Executive Committee and is chair of the bank’s Technology Council and various other committees. Mr. Hariman is responsible for the company’s technology strategy, infrastructure, delivery and information security. He also partners with other bank areas to advance City National’s digital transformation.
Before joining City National, Mr. Hariman served as head of Global Wealth Management Technology at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) in Toronto, where he transformed and delivered digital development in an agile environment, while also delivering sustainable operational excellence. At RBC, Mr. Hariman oversaw a team of 600 full-time employees and a large network of vendors enabling 300 systems and 350 projects. Mr. Hariman spent more than a dozen years at RBC. Before that, he worked at several firms, including CIBC World Markets and DMR Consulting (Fujitsu Consulting) in Toronto and Citibank in Asia.
Mr. Hariman graduated from the University of Toronto with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering.
