Richard A. Weiss
Executive Vice President, Chief Investment Officer
City National Asset Management
Richard Weiss is executive vice president and chief investment officer for City National Asset Management, the investment management group of City National Bank. In this capacity, he oversees the management of more than $12 billion in client assets.
Mr. Weiss also directs the bank’s investment strategy and policy, which focuses on providing highly competitive rates of return and meeting clients’ financial objectives.
Mr. Weiss has nearly 25 years of experience in the investment management field. Before joining City National, he was executive vice president and chief investment officer at Sanwa Bank California. Earlier in his career, he held senior investment positions at PaineWebber in New York and Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Weiss graduated magna cum laude from both the University of Chicago, where he earned a master’s degree in business administration, and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a bachelor’s degree in finance.
An active conference speaker, Mr. Weiss has also authored several academic research papers, is well known for his advanced work in the field of global investing, and is a frequent guest on local business radio and television programs.
