RSS: How To

City National Bank is always developing exciting new ways to deliver content to our users. RSS news feeds, Podcasts and direct audio files are all innovative examples of our efforts to serve our clients.

Here are some examples on how to add City National RSS news feeds to your personal portal page or RSS news aggregator:

Google Personal Home Page:
Google personalized pages allows you to make your own content sections. To add CNB RSS news feeds to your own section, please follow these steps:

  1. Click the "Add content" button in the upper left-hand corner of the page, which will open a pane on the left to add new content.

  2. Enter the CNB RSS URL into the search box under "Create a Section." Then click on the "go" button next to the section you'd like to add to your page.

Google Desktop Sidekick:
You can view your own personalized news headlines in the Google Sidebar and in the web browser. You can click on a news headline to read a description of the article and then click on the link to view the entire document. Follow the sets below to add the latest CNB RSS news feeds.

  1. Click on “Options” from the Web Clips panel in the Google Desktop Sidekick

  2. Enter the CNB RSS URL and click “Add URL.”
  3. Click “OK” and the new CNB RSS feed will be added to your Web Clips


My Yahoo! Home Page:
My Yahoo! gives you easy access to your choice of Yahoo! content as well as many other online services. My Yahoo! supports RSS format that makes it easy to get news and information from your favorite web sites in one convenient location.

Follow these steps to add RSS feeds:
  1. Click on “Add Content” from you're my Yahoo! Home page.
  2. Within the "Find Content" box, click the "Add RSS by URL" link
  3. Enter in the CNB RSS URL into the Add RSS by URL box and click "Add."
  4. A preview page will show you what the latest CNB RSS content will look on your page. If you like what you see, confirm by clicking "Add to My Yahoo!"


My MSN:
Subscribe to syndicated content and have it available on you're my MSN Home Page.

  1. Click on the “Add Content” link
  2. Enter the CNB RSS URL into the search box and click on the arrow
  3. Check the box for the news feed you would like to add and click OK
  4. Your personal page will automatically update with the new content
