Fifty years ago, a small group of California entrepreneurs created a new bank designed to serve their community’s rapidly expanding business base in key California industries. They envisioned a bank that would foster personal relationships and provide complete financial solutions for other entrepreneurs, professionals, their businesses and their families on The way up®. Today, City National is California’s Premier Private and Business Bank®, where that original vision flourishes in 53 banking offices, including 12 regional centers, throughout Southern California, the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City.
City National’s model of relationship banking is as old as the bank, which opened for business on January 4.
City National moves into the building that, to this day, remains its headquarters— 400 North Roxbury Drive in Beverly Hills.
Gen. Omar Bradley (center), a member of City National’s Board of Directors, breaks ground for the growing bank’s newest office, along with Bram Goldsmith, Director Ben Maltz and President Al Hart (third, fourth and fifth from left).
