City National Bank
James R. Daley is executive vice president in charge of City National Bank’s Treasury Services Division. He also is a member of the bank’s executive committee.
Mr. Daley oversees the division’s three major banking units: Cash Management, Correspondent Banking, and Specialty Deposits, which serves title and escrow companies, 1031 Exchange accommodators, property management firms and other similar clients.
A 30-year California banking industry veteran, Mr. Daley most recently served as executive vice president and chief product officer at Mellon 1st Business Bank, where he was responsible for commercial real estate lending, international trade-related banking, treasury management sales and specialty deposits. He also chaired that bank’s asset liability and deposit pricing committees.
Prior to joining Mellon 1st Business Bank in 2007, he was president of the corporate financial services group at Commercial Capital Bancorp in Irvine, Calif. Before that, he was corporate executive vice president of Comerica Bank’s financial services division and executive vice president in charge of Imperial Bank’s financial services group. From 1991 to 1994, he was chairman, president and chief executive officer of Sunrise Bancorp in Roseville, Calif.
Earlier in his career, he served with Imperial Bank, Union Bank and Coldwell Banker. He also he spent four years at the California State Department of Commerce, where he served as executive director of the Commission for Economic Development and deputy director for industry and trade.
Mr. Daley earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., and a juris doctor from McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific in Sacramento, Calif. He also attended the Pacific Coast School of Banking at the University of Washington.
He is a member of the State Bar of California. He also is a member of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York and the Laguna Art Museum in Laguna Beach, Calif.
