Robert H. Brant serves as executive vice president and Northern California Regional Executive for City National Bank. In this capacity, he is responsible for coordinating the bank’s client service, business development, marketing, and expansion efforts throughout the Bay Area. Mr. Brant is a member of the bank’s Executive Committee.

Mr. Brant joined City National in November 1996 as executive vice president and Metropolitan region manager, responsible for commercial banking in downtown Los Angeles, the South Bay, Orange County and San Diego. In October 1999, he assumed day-to-day responsibility for growing the bank’s presence in Northern California.

Before joining City National, Mr. Brant was with Union Bank of California for 21 years, focusing primarily on middle-market banking in the greater Los Angeles area.

Mr. Brant holds a bachelor’s degree from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, Calif., and an M.B.A from the University of Southern California.

Mr. Brant serves on the board of governors of the San Francisco Symphony and is a member of the symphony’s audit, finance and planned gift committees. He is a member of the executive committee of the San Francisco Center for Economic Development, a board member of the Bay Area Council and a member of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group and the San Francisco Planning & Urban Research Association. He also serves on the board of directors and on the finance committee of the Society of California Pioneers.

Mr. Brant and his wife reside in Mill Valley, Calif. They have two grown sons.
